Let me start this by saying I’m not very confident in my writing, but I feel like there are some things that are worth saying, even if you have trouble saying them.
There are things in this world that are beautiful, and I think most people have the “big picture” of what is beautiful programmed into them already. City lights at night, a stream quietly running through a forest, a sunset on the coast. But I think true beauty takes discovering. I think that when you take the time to get to know someone and they let you inside of the purest part of themselves, into a place where no one has ever been, and you can’t help but feel a thousand different kinds of happiness overwhelm you, that is beauty. When you can look into someones eyes and see both the fire that drives them towards the future and the innocence that lingers from their past. When their smile can completely obliterate your guard and shatter your walls and happiness invades every single room of the castle you call your heart. I think finding that kind of unique beauty is rare in a world filled with things you are automatically told to oooh and ahhh at. When you find the kind of beauty that makes the most dazzling things in life look bland, dull or otherwise, never let it go. Hold onto it with both of your arms as tight as you can, and never lose sight of it, because you are one of the lucky ones. The ones who have found the greatest beauty of all: love.
I have found it. And trust me, I will never let go.
